Privacy Policy

1. Who this covers

This policy explains how FusionICT ("we", "us") handles information in the Susta app and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What we collect

Susta is designed to keep data on your device. The information involved falls into a few buckets:

• Profile you set up: your goal (e.g. GLP-1, blood sugar, keto, longevity, everyday), optional name, cuisines, allergies, activity level, and — for GLP-1 users — where you are in your journey. Stored on your device.
• Your record: foods you log, recipes you cook, and any weight, muscle, glucose, or daily energy/sleep/stress check-ins you enter. Stored on your device.
• Pantry & shopping lists you build. Stored on your device.
• Account details (only if you turn on backup): an email address, or a Google sign-in, or an anonymous device account — used solely to sync your own data to your private cloud space.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we don't build advertising profiles. We don't track you across other apps or websites.

3. What leaves your device

By default the app works offline. A few specific actions send data off your device — always for a purpose you initiate:

• Barcode lookups. When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (and, as a fallback, the USDA FoodData Central database) to retrieve product information. No personal data is attached.
• Label & meal photos. If you photograph a nutrition label or a meal, the image is sent to Google's Gemini model (via Firebase AI) to read or estimate it, then discarded — only the extracted facts are kept, on your device.
• Backup & sync (opt-in). If you enable "Back up & sync", your profile, record, pantry, and lists are copied to a private space in Google Firestore that only your account can read. Nothing syncs unless you turn this on.
• Susta Plus coach (paid tier). For Plus users, the text of a coach question and the engine's cited answer are sent to Google's Gemini model so the reply reads naturally. The model may only rephrase the cited answer — it can't change the facts — and your profile and record are not sent.
• Community contribution (optional, per product). If you choose to share a product you taught Susta back to Open Food Facts, that product's public data is submitted at your request.

4. How we use data

We use the information above only to make the Service work for you:

• to generate food verdicts, plans, recipes, and coaching tuned to your goal;
• to keep your longitudinal record and produce the reports you choose to generate;
• to sync and restore your data across your devices, if you enable backup;
• to keep the Service secure and working, and to comply with law.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for anyone else's marketing.

5. Health information

Susta is a food and lifestyle companion, not a medical device and not a healthcare provider. Any weight, muscle, or glucose figures you enter are treated as wellness estimates, not clinical measurements or diagnoses. Reports you generate are information you have chosen to compile — they are not medical records, and the Service never advises on medication. Please discuss any medical decision with a qualified clinician.

6. Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service. They process data only to provide their function:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud — app hosting, authentication, the optional Firestore backup, and the Gemini AI features described above.
• Open Food Facts — the packaged-food database used for barcode lookups (data under the ODbL licence).
• USDA FoodData Central — a fallback packaged-food database for barcode lookups.

We don't add third-party advertising networks or data brokers.

7. Retention

Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you enabled backup, your cloud copy stays until you delete your data or account (see below). Barcode lookups and photo processing are transient and not linked to a personal profile.

8. Your rights & controls

• Access & export. Export your complete record as a file at any time, from the app — free, always.
• Delete. "Delete all my data" in the app erases your profile, record, pantry, lists, and settings from the device, and removes the cloud copy and account if you had backup on.
• Opt out of the cloud. Simply don't enable backup, or sign out — the app stays fully on-device.
• Correct. Edit or re-enter any information directly in the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example under the GDPR or similar laws), including the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise any of them.

9. Security

Data in transit is protected with TLS. The optional cloud backup is stored in per-user, owner-only records enforced by server-side security rules, so only your authenticated account can read it. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we design for least privilege and keep the data we handle to a minimum.

10. Children

Susta is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We'll revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
